SGRH is one of country's very few hospitals to have separate, twin OTs for liver transplant and a dedicated Liver Transplant ICU. In addition, there is a separate Liver HDU (high dependency unit).

There is an excellent Blood Bank with 24 hour apharesis facility, advanced laboratory and microbiology (infection control) support, advanced cardiology, DSA and interventional radiology, portable and colour ultrasonology, 32 multislice CT scanner, and nephrology (including 24 hour dialysis and CVVHD) facilities.

The author (Dr. A.S Soin) is supported by the country's most well trained and qualified team comprising of 3 senior surgeons and 6 junior surgeons, 3 adult and 1 child Hepatologists (liver physician) and 5 anaesthetists, all trained in conducting liver transplant operations and taking care of such patients postoperatively.
In addition, specially trained medical and nursing staff for ICU, nephrologists, liver pathologists, clinical microbiologists, physiotherapists, and nutritionists are available round-the-clock.
The author and his surgical team have extensive experience in both cadaveric and living donor liver transplantation for adults and children, microvascular surgery and liver resection (removal of parts of liver as in donor surgery or in case of tumours in the non-transplant situation).
