The most common cause of jaundice is infection with hepatotrophic viruses (A,B,C,D,E). In Indian children most common cause of jaundice is infection with hepatitis A virus which spread through contaminated water and food. Hepatitis B,C,D and E also exists in Indian children but are rare.
Symptoms include-
• Fever
• Pain abdomen
• Decrease in appetite
• Nausea / Vomiting
• Dark Urine
